This project is looking for volunteers to assist the turtle camp’s biologists and technicians in the conservation of a sea turtle population along the Pacific Coast. Duties include nightly patrols on the beach to collect eggs from nesting turtles and the placing of eggs in incubation centres. When the eggs hatch volunteers assist in the ‘cleaning’ of the nest and the release of baby turtles. Volunteers also assist with general camp and beach clean-up tasks. The project runs from the 1 July to 15 December every year.
The project costs £60 for 10 days which includes accommodation and a fully equipped kitchen. There is no charge for additional days. Volunteers buy and prepare their own food.
